Maintaining traditional weaving
When mentioning the traditional weaving profession, many people immediately think of Hoi village in Tan Le commune, Hung Ha district, the old Thai Binh province (now Long Hung commune, the new Hung Yen province). This place has long been known as one of the famous chieuction nests of the country, Hoi village chieuction products are associated with the life and culture of the people of the Northern region.
The elders in the village said that in the past, Hoi village had a weaving profession, but people used standing weaving tables, gradually learning advanced techniques to help weaving products look more beautiful and the threads are more even.

Having been involved in the weaving profession since childhood, Ms. Doan Thi Hue (in Long Hung commune, Hung Yen province) said that the weaving profession is not too difficult but very hard because it has to go through many stages, from harvesting sedge, drying, dyeing, cleaning to weaving.
"To improve the quality of the project, we have chosen the standard sedge, white sedge fiber, with roundness. The process of making sedge is the same as when brushing hair, using a comb to make sedge even and straight before putting it in a weaving machine," said Ms. Hue.
Through many ups and downs, Hoi village people still keep their profession and love the profession. Hoi villagers are proud to have the unique features of the profession.
According to Hoi village weavers, to be able to weave a required weaving sheet, it requires meticulous hands, experience and creative techniques of the weaver. Today, despite changes and improvements in the design, Hoi village's canvas is still durable and beautiful. The weaving profession is still preserved and developed by the people.
Weaving in the midst of modern life
Previously, Hoi villagers wealed by hand, but today, the technique has become more modern, the weaving work has become more elaborate and faster, bringing productivity and stable income to the people.
Since 2005, many households have boldly invested in machinery to replace human labor, increase capacity and focus on improving product designs.

Realizing the improvement and reduction of human labor when using machinery, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai (in Long Hung commune, Hung Yen province) shared that nowadays, people have switched to using weaving machines, the productivity is higher, the income of craftsmen has also increased significantly and maintained quality.
In addition, when applying machinery, it requires highly skilled workers to put sedge in the weaving mold quickly and evenly; at the same time, it is necessary to handle the edge-breaking lines and keep the edges neatly and neatly. Previously, 1 person could make 1 pair/day, now 1 person can use a machine for 20 pairs/day. With increased income, everyone in the village is also excited and more confident in sticking with the job.
Hoi village festival has many types: flower festival, bean festival, smooth festival, festival of cashew trees, festival of red wine, festival of vehicle fibers... with many different sizes. Currently, the products of the craft village have appeared in many domestic provinces and are exported to the market: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand...

In addition, there are 8 facilities specializing in the production of nylon and fake cloud chieu, with more than 300 machines, creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers inside and outside the locality.
