The tropical depression in the eastern Philippines area is positioned at 13:00 at about 17.2 degrees north latitude - 124.3 degrees east longitude, about 600km east of Luzon Island (Philippines). Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will strengthen into a storm.
Around the night of July 24 - early morning of July 25, this storm entered the Northeast area of the Northern East Sea.
It is highly likely (80% probability) that this storm will make landfall in Guangdong province (China) on July 26 and is unlikely to directly affect the mainland of our country.
Regarding heavy rain, from July 23 - July 25 in the Northern region, there will be widespread rain. Total rainfall is commonly from 70 - 150mm, locally heavy rain over 300mm. The focus is on Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La provinces, it is necessary to prevent the risk of flash floods and landslides.
Hydrographic situation, from the night of July 23 - July 25, a flood is likely to appear on rivers in the Northern region, with a flood amplitude of 2 - 5m. During this flood, the peak flood on small rivers, upstream of the Thao, Chay, Lo, Cau, and Thuong rivers will reach alarm level 1 - alarm level 2, with some rivers above alarm level 2.
