On August 1, the Office of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that it had issued a notice of conclusions of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy at the meeting to review the progress of preparing for the 2026 Durian Festival.
Accordingly, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy requested the Organizing Committee to urgently select a unit with sufficient capacity and experience to be the focal point for coordinating the entire activities of the festival to ensure unity in direction, administration and improve the quality of the event.
For the opening program, the organizing unit must invite influential KOLs and KOCs, especially from the Chinese market, to participate in promoting the festival and the Dak Lak durian brand.
At the same time, creating conditions for businesses in the province to participate in organizing appropriate activities.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to complete highlight activities such as the check-in space with the Durian Tower model in the shape of a basket, the Durian Culinary Festival with 102 dishes, complete the dossier to establish records and build the overall script of the festival.
This unit is also assigned to research and organize a durian eating contest, issue tickets in the form of vouchers, invite celebrities, KOLs, KOCs at home and abroad to participate in order to create a communication effect.
After the festival, it is necessary to build a "Story about Dak Lak Durian", introduce typical durian varieties and develop tourism products associated with this industry.
Dak Lak Durian Association is assigned to mobilize socialized resources, connecting production, processing, and export enterprises, especially Chinese partners.
Along with that, complete the plan for a pickup truck parade to promote durian, register to establish a Guinness record and study new activities to gradually build the Dak Lak Durian Festival into an annual event.
The Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand, organize trade conferences, attract businesses and importers at home and abroad; coordinate livestream training, digital sales and promotion on digital platforms.
The Department of Finance is assigned to review the plan for using funds and advise on attracting investment in raw material, processing and logistics areas.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment focuses on developing raw material areas, mobilizing cooperatives, production enterprises, purchasing, processing and exporting to participate in the festival, contributing to improving the value of the durian industry.
