At the press conference in May 2026 held on May 26, representatives of the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province said that the 1st Dong Thap Fruit Festival will take place from June 5 to 8, 2026 at Hung Vuong Square. With the theme "Dong Thap - Sweet fruit region", the event is expected to become an important milestone in the agricultural economic development strategy, while affirming the position of a safe fruit capital, meeting export standards of the Mekong Delta region.
The festival is chaired by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, aiming to promote the brand of typical agricultural products, connect consumption and enhance the value of the key fruit industry chain.
With the advantage of fertile alluvial land along the Mekong River, Dong Thap has long been famous for many high-quality fruits such as Cao Lanh cat chu mango, Lai Vung pink tangerine, Chau Thanh longan, durian and many unique OCOP products. In recent years, the locality has promoted the development of raw material areas according to safety standards, applying high technology and traceability to meet the increasingly strict requirements of the export market.
The highlight of the festival is the Exhibition and Trade Promotion Space with more than 100 booths introducing fresh fruits, deep-processed agricultural products, OCOP products and digital transformation models in agriculture.
This is also a place to directly connect cooperatives, gardeners with distribution and export businesses, opening up opportunities to bring Dong Thap agricultural products further into the international market.
In addition to commercial activities, the festival also organizes a series of in-depth seminars on developing organized raw material areas, building agricultural product brands and enhancing the value of the fruit industry. The forums are expected to contribute to promoting the transition from "agricultural production" to "agricultural economy" in a modern and sustainable direction.
Cultural and tourism space is also invested on a large scale with a water music, lighting and art mapping program "Returning to listen to the river tell stories", vividly recreating the river culture of the Mekong Delta, the journey of reclaiming the Sen Hong land and the formation of famous fruit brands of Dong Thap.
Many attractive community activities such as the "Mekong Flavors" culinary space, the "Fruit Running Track" race, the art creation contest from agricultural products and ecological garden experience tours promise to create great attraction for domestic and international tourists.
According to the Organizing Committee, all preparations for technical infrastructure, security, health and food safety are being completed synchronously to ensure the festival takes place safely, professionally and effectively.
