Voters reported that the situation of fake Ngoc Linh ginseng and fake medicinal herbs is increasing, seriously affecting the brand, reputation, value and making it difficult for people to develop the economy of this medicinal plant.
Voters recommended that Da Nang City direct functional agencies to strengthen management and research on solutions to protect the national "protection" Ngoc Linh ginseng brand in Nam Tra My and Bac Tra My (old) areas.
Responding to this content, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City said that Ngoc Linh ginseng is a rare medicinal plant with high value in terms of medicine, economy and culture.
In recent years, the old Quang Nam province, now the new Da Nang City, has always identified the protection, development and enhancement of the value of Ngoc Linh ginseng brand as a key task, especially for the area of Nam Tra My district (old) now divided into 5 communes: Nam Tra My, Tra Tap, Tra Van, Tra Linh, Tra Leng (after adjusting administrative boundaries).
However, due to high economic value, the situation of trading in fake Ngoc Linh ginseng and mixing other medicinal herbs to impersonate Ngoc Linh ginseng is complicated, negatively affecting consumer confidence, undermining brand reputation, and causing difficulties for people and businesses.
Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City has directed the Market Management force to strengthen inspection and control, strictly handle organizations, individuals, and businesses operating the production and trading of fake ginseng and ginseng of unknown origin to protect the brand and value of Ngoc Linh ginseng.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City also organizes inspections of organizations and individuals operating the production and supply of Ngoc Linh ginseng varieties in the area; preventing and handling cases of seed and seedling trafficking of unknown origin.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, socio-political organizations, People's Committees of communes and wards regularly educate, propagate, and mobilize people to raise awareness and change their habits in buying and selling goods in a civilized direction, not being greedy for cheap.
At the same time, continue to improve the role and effectiveness of reporting violations among the people. Thereby promptly reporting to local authorities and authorities via hotline numbers, via petitions... when purchasing counterfeit goods, the goods must not be of guaranteed quality.
Helping authorities promptly prevent subjects from consuming counterfeit goods and goods with guaranteed quality, violating food safety to protect the legitimate rights of the people.
Organize inspections, detect and promptly inform relevant authorities about suspected cases of trade fraud and trading in Ngoc Linh ginseng counterfeit goods.
Resolutely handle strictly according to the provisions of law for organizations, households, individuals producing and trading counterfeit goods, trade fraud and processed products from Ngoc Linh ginseng that do not ensure current regulations.
