Dong Thap - In 2024, the province's rice export turnover will reach 227% of the plan, thereby bringing the total export turnover of the whole province to 2 billion USD.

At the 2024 Industry and Trade Conference of Dong Thap Province on December 20, the Department of Industry and Trade of the province said that the province's export turnover in 2024 will reach 2 billion USD, an increase of more than 53% compared to 2023, reaching more than 142% of the yearly plan.

Of which, the two main export items are rice and seafood. Rice exports are estimated to reach more than 1.3 million tons, an increase of more than 157% compared to 2023, reaching more than 227% of the annual plan. Seafood exports, mainly pangasius, are estimated to reach 290,000 tons, an increase of nearly 13% compared to 2023, reaching more than 106% of the annual plan.

Also according to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Thap province, in 2024, the import turnover of goods is estimated to reach 840 million USD, reaching 105% of the annual plan.
