Nestle Vietnam co-organized a meeting and exchange to connect member businesses of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Accompanying the business community in the role of Co-Chair of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), Nestle Vietnam, in collaboration with VBCSD and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), organized a sharing session on the topic "Carbon Credit Offsetting Mechanism in Vietnam and the Roadmap towards the Net Zero 2050 target".

The event aims to connect VBCSD member businesses, with the participation and sharing of representatives of the Department of Climate Change, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

At the event, businesses were updated with summary information on the results of the APEC 2024 Summit, COP29 Conference, and Vietnam's latest policies to guide and support businesses in developing and implementing appropriate action programs to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This activity is part of the Awards Ceremony of the Vietnam Sustainable Enterprises Assessment and Ranking Program (CSI-100), an annual event to honor the Top 100 sustainable enterprises. 2024 marks the 9th year of CSI-100 and the 7th year that Nestle Vietnam has accompanied the program. Participating in and applying the CSI Index helps businesses measure achievements and shape sustainable development strategies.

"With the vision of becoming a global company that is locally connected and a pioneer in sustainable development, Nestle not only sets ambitious goals and offers innovative solutions for itself, but also wishes to inspire and support the business community towards a green future, contributing to Vietnam's common commitments," said Mr. Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestle Vietnam, Co-chair of VBCSD, at the award ceremony.

“Through the CSI program, we call for cooperation from management agencies, businesses and organizations to share initiatives and good practices more widely, together creating a greener, more prosperous Vietnam,” Mr. Binu Jacob added.

Since the beginning of 2024, Nestle Vietnam has coordinated with partners to organize many training and sharing programs for businesses, especially units in the company's supply chain, to count, measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These activities demonstrate Nestle's commitment to supporting the business community in practicing sustainable development, improving competitiveness, and reaching out to world markets.

At the CSI 2024 Launch Ceremony, Nestle introduced sustainability initiatives such as transitioning to sustainable agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and circular economy in production to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the supply chain.

In addition, the company also introduced the initiative of applying VR360 virtual reality technology to enhance the experience for guests attending the ceremony. These activities raise awareness and inspire action in the business and consumer community.
