According to Ms. Ly Kim Chi - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Food Association, the merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly) is not only an administrative event but also creates new development space and growth axis, where industries, services, logistics and innovation converge.
In that context, the food processing industry continues to be identified by Ho Chi Minh City as one of the four key industries. The industrial production index of the industry in the first 11 months of 2025 increased by nearly 9% over the same period, reflecting the strong vitality and significant internal strength of the business community.
However, according to Ms. Ly Kim Chi, 2025 also poses many challenges for food industry businesses when logistics costs increase, export markets fluctuate strongly, while domestic purchasing power recovers slowly.
However, in this difficult context, new opportunities are gradually taking shape. Trends such as green food, alternative products, traceability requirements, and high standards of food safety are reshaping the market and opening up a sustainable development roadmap for the industry.
From that practice, the 2025 Food Industry Trade and Product Introduction Week does not only stop at product display and promotion activities, but is also expected to become a space for businesses to exchange, connect, update trends, share experiences and seek partners, thereby creating a foundation for the long-term development of the industry.

This year's Food Industry Product Connection, Trade and Introduction Week alone attracted about 100 businesses to register to participate.
The organizing committee selected 60 typical enterprises to display diverse product groups. Within the framework of the program, trade connection activities and thematic seminars were also organized to expand cooperation and export opportunities for businesses in the coming time.
To support businesses to make good use of these opportunities, trade promotion programs play an important role. Mr. Tran Phu Lu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) said that in recent years, ITPC has organized many domestic and foreign trade promotion activities, supporting businesses to participate in major international fairs and exhibitions specializing in food and food. Thereby, helping Ho Chi Minh City businesses expand their markets, connect with domestic and international importers and buyers.
In addition, ITPC also regularly implements programs to support businesses to expand their markets through connecting consumption and export with e-commerce platforms and domestic and foreign distribution systems.
Notably, in 2026, ITPC plans to organize at least 8 programs to support food industry enterprises to participate in major international fairs in key markets such as China, Europe, Japan, and at the same time expand promotions to potential markets such as the Middle East, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
