On June 1, Market Management Team No. 1 - Nghe An Market Management Department said that the unit had just coordinated with the Economic Police Department - Nghe An Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a business household in Dien Chau district, thereby discovering 186 powdered milk products for children as smuggled goods.
Accordingly, on May 30, the authorities inspected a business household owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Bon (residing in Nam block, Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district). At the time of inspection, 186 baby powdered milk products were discovered with labels written entirely in foreign languages, without sub-labels in Vietnamese as prescribed.
Notably, the products do not have warning information, instructions for use, mixing and preservation methods in Vietnamese; at the same time, the product declaration receipt number on the packaging of the goods is not shown.
The business owner could not present invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the above milk. Market Management Team No. 1 has drawn up a record, temporarily detained all goods for verification, clarification and handling according to regulations. The total value of the shipment is estimated at nearly 24.5 million VND.
At the same time, on May 29, the Market Management Force also inspected a business household owned by Mr. N.D.D. (residing in Giang Nam village, Mai Giang commune, Thanh Chuong district) was the owner and discovered nearly 150kg of chicken feet of unknown origin without legal documents.
All chicken feet have been recorded as violating and destroyed in accordance with the provisions of law to ensure food safety and hygiene and consumer rights.
According to the representative of Nghe An Market Management Department, in the coming time, the unit will continue to strengthen coordination in inspecting and closely monitoring the market, especially for food and nutrition items for children to prevent the trade of smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin, and protect public health.
