On June 11, the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion worked with Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) to review the implementation results of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Attending the working session were Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang - Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Le Hoang - Deputy General Director of Vinachem; representatives of leaders and experts of the Group's Technical Board.
At the working session, Mr. Phung Ngoc Bo - Head of the Group's Technical Department - reported on the results of implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Vinachem's action programs in the field of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. Accordingly, Vinachem has issued the science, technology, innovation and digital transformation program for the period 2025-2030; established the Steering Committee for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development; developed a digital transformation plan for the period 2026-2030 along with regulations on management of science, technology tasks and the science and technology fund.
To date, 100% of member units have developed programs and plans for implementation suitable to actual conditions. Propaganda work on Resolution 57-NQ/TW is carried out through electronic information portals, conferences, thematic seminars and creative labor emulation movements.
Regarding strategic technology products, Southern Battery Joint Stock Company (PINACO) is developing sodium-ion batteries and energy storage systems (BESS), aiming for commercialization in 2026. Member units are also researching ultra-pure chemicals serving the electronics, semiconductor and high-tech industries such as phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and ultra-pure industrial gas.
In digital transformation, many member businesses have applied digital solutions in management, production, traceability, automation and data management. After a year of operation, the e-commerce platform VinachemMart achieved more than 51.5 billion VND in transaction revenue, more than 52,000 registered accounts and nearly 26,000 successful orders.
Vinachem also put into operation the Vinachem Agriculture platform, developing AI virtual assistants and smart agricultural production support tools.
The Group is orienting investment in the Vinachem Center for Science, Technology and Innovation in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, with a total estimated investment of about 1,500 billion VND. The center focuses on researching ultra-pure chemicals, pharmaceuticals, new materials and technologies for production and business.
At the working session, the two sides exchanged views on recommendations related to mechanisms to support the development of new generation batteries, energy storage systems, pure chemicals serving semiconductors - electronics; specific mechanisms for chemical technology research and development centers, new materials and the formation of high-tech chemical industry value chains in the country.
The Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion will summarize Vinachem's recommendations, report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and competent authorities, contributing to promoting science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the chemical industry.
