In the days leading up to Tet, Hoang Hoa Tham flower market (Hanoi) becomes bustling as people flock to shop, choose flowers and ornamental plants to decorate their houses.
In addition to traditional peach and kumquat trees, many booths displaying colorful cymbidium orchids attract the attention of customers.
Ms. Tran Lan Oanh - a flower trader at Hoang Hoa Tham market - said that cymbidium orchids are gradually becoming a new choice during Tet 2026 thanks to many outstanding advantages.
Cymbidium orchids have a light, cool fragrance. If displayed indoors, they can be played for half a month, if the plant is healthy, they can be kept for a month, or even longer," Ms. Oanh said.

Also according to Ms. Oanh, cymbidium orchids have many different lines, suitable for many needs and preferences: "There is a dark red line, meaning fullness after a hard year. The pink, purple, yellow, and green lines are very eye-catching, symbolizing wealth and luck.
Regarding prices, cymbidium orchids are sold at many different prices: "Small pots are priced at about 250,000 - 300,000 VND. More beautiful lines range from 600,000 VND, some pots up to 800,000 VND or about 1 million VND," Ms. Oanh said.

According to records, many people tend to buy flowers and ornamental plants early to avoid crowded scenes near Tet, and at the same time enjoy the spring atmosphere right from the last days of the year. Besides cymbidium orchids, peach blossoms and kumquats still retain their own appeal, especially for families who love traditional features.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha (Hanoi) said that this year she chose cymbidium orchids to decorate her house for Tet instead of traditional flower arrangements.
I like cymbidium orchids because they are lightly fragrant, and they are very comfortable in the room. One pot can be used for a long time, without having to change flowers many times as before," Ms. Ha shared.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Van Hung (Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) still prioritizes familiar plants.
My family buys peach blossoms or kumquats every year. There are almost two weeks left until Tet, but this year I went to buy early to choose beautiful trees and have time to decorate the house," Mr. Hung said.

The diversity of flower and ornamental plant types along with the early shopping trend shows that the Tet flower market at Hoang Hoa Tham flower market is entering its peak period. From new flower species such as cymbidium orchids to familiar peach and kumquat trees, each choice contributes to bringing spring colors and expectations for a new year of peace and prosperity to each family.
