Viet 34 Restaurant fined for violating food safety

The People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi) announced the fine of 8 million VND forit 34 restaurant for violating food safety.

On the information portal, Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee announced that the list of facilities for administrative sanctions for food safety violations will be updated until May 23, 2025.

Accordingly, the District People's Committee issued Decision No. 1668/QD-UBND to fine Nga Xuan Service and Trading Company Limited (Vit 34 Restaurant).

Viet 34 Restaurant was fined for violating the provisions of the law on food sample storage.

According to the company's website, Viet 34 currently owns 15 locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, serving more than 50 duck dishes.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health on implementing the three-step food inspection and food sample storage regime for food service establishments, food sample storage utensils must have a sealed lid, containing at least 100 grams for dry, solid foods or 150 ml for liquid foods. The tools for taking samples and storing food samples must be washed and disinfected before use.

When taking food samples, each dish is taken and stored in a separate sample storage container and sealed. Food samples are taken before starting to eat or before being transported elsewhere. The food sample is stored immediately after being taken.

The amount of food samples when stored is also clearly regulated as: solid foods (sauteed, steamed, fried, boiled...); immediate vegetables and fruits ( live vegetables, dessert...): at least 100 grams; Liquid foods (soup, soup...): at least 150 ml.

Information about the Recorded Food sample is recorded on the label according to the Recorded Food sample and the Recorded Food sample is destroyed and fixed in the Food sample storage device.

Food samples must be stored separately from other foods, the temperature for preserving food samples ranges from 2°C to 8°C.

The time for recording food samples is at least 24 hours from the time of collecting the food sample. When there is a suspicion of food poisoning or a request from the management agency, the sample cannot be destroyed until further notice.

Previously, in early April 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee implemented the "Fodal Safety Action Month (FS)" in 2025 with the theme "Ensuring food safety, focusing on shared kitchen safety, food services and street food".

According to the report of the Hanoi Department of Health, during the 2024 Food Safety Action Month, the city established many inspection and examination teams for 12,358 establishments, of which 10,469 establishments met the standards (accounting for 84.7%) and fined nearly 2,000 establishments for violations with a total amount of nearly 9 billion VND, and suspended the operation of 7 establishments, forcing the destruction of products of 223 establishments.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health, said that through peak inspections and examinations, it has been shown that strengthening surprise inspections has brought better results.
