According to Da Lat flower gardeners, cymbidium orchids have many types, so the selling price is also different.
Specifically, jacket yellow cymbidium orchids have prices ranging from 300,000 - 450,000 VND/branch; fire orange cymbidium orchids from 500,000 - 550,000 VND/branch; half-moon cymbidium orchids from 550,000 - 600,000 VND/branch.
Notably, black velvet chocolate cymbidium orchids cost nearly 1 million VND/branch.
Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Huyen, owner of a cymbidium orchid garden in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, said that to ensure the supply of goods to serve the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year market, her family started to care for and pot cymbidium orchids from the beginning of December.
Currently, the family is completing preparations to supply flowers to partners in Hanoi City, Da Nang City, Phan Thiet, Ho Chi Minh City and some northern provinces," Ms. Huyen shared.
According to Ms. Huyen, cymbidium orchids have high economic value and are favored by many customers.
Depending on feng shui and preferences, cymbidium orchid pots are usually grafted from 3 to 7 branches, with the selling price of each pot ranging from 3 million to more than 5 million VND.
Along with cymbidium orchids, phalaenopsis orchids are also being urgently selected and grafted in pots by gardeners in Da Lat to meet the Tet market demand.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, a orchid grower in Xuan Huong ward (Da Lat), said that to meet Tet orders, many gardeners have to hire additional workers to work from 6 am to 9 pm every day.
Like every year, Tet orchids are very popular, so orders come early.
For nearly 10 days, I have had to hire 3 workers to graft orchids into pots to deliver goods in time. The wage ranges from 700,000 to 1,000,000 VND/person/day," Ms. Nga said.
For orchids, garden owners often graft 2-3 branches into large pots with many branches, according to feng shui or customer requirements. On average, each orchid branch costs from 200,000 - 300,000 VND.
According to the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection of Lam Dong province, in the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 crop, the whole province will plant about 4,000 hectares of flowers of all kinds, with an estimated output of about 1.6 billion branches.
