Coming to the Tet kumquat capital in Vi Khe ward, Ninh Binh province in the days leading up to Tet, the buying and selling atmosphere is bustling. In particular, the miniature kumquat line is shaped eye-catchingly, suitable for townhouses and offices, which is being favored by the market, causing many gardeners to fall into a state of out-of-stock.
According to records at some gardens, right from the beginning of December, the number of customers ordering has increased dramatically. Many traders and retail customers come to the garden to choose trees and deposit early to ensure beautiful products for Tet. Many garden owners said that the quantity of miniature kumquats this year is consumed faster than expected, and many beautiful models have been finalized by customers early.

Born in a craft village, attached to the profession from a young age, Mr. Tran Van Ninh, owner of a kumquat garden in Vi Khe ward, shared: "I started making miniature kumquat models about 3 years ago because they are popular with many customers. Instead of simple kumquat pots, miniature kumquats are created with many shapes such as horizontal, huyền, thác đổ shapes. Miniature kumquat works are also combined with many types of pots, decorative details such as mascots, stones, moss, mini waterfalls... Each kumquat tree I shape differently, creating rich works.
To serve a variety of designs for customers to choose from, Mr. Ninh's family prepared about 700 miniature kumquat pots, with selling prices ranging from 3 - 20 million VND/pot. Up to this point, more than 500 kumquat pots have been purchased by customers, and many unfinished products have been ordered.

Besides, on this occasion, Mr. Ninh's family has to hire more workers to take care of, shape, pot and transport trees. On peak days, workers work from early morning to late at night but still cannot deliver goods to customers in time.
Also creating miniature kumquat works, Mr. Pham Minh Chau's kumquat garden (in Vi Khe ward) is busy completing pre-orders. Mr. Chau's kumquat price ranges from 5 - 35 million VND/pot and is chosen by many customers to buy from around October of the lunar calendar, and will be moved away in early December to celebrate Tet early.

According to Mr. Chau, to complete a miniature kumquat pot, growers must prepare the tree 2-3 years in advance, or even longer. The kumquat roots bought will be planted in the garden to be shaped, create flower canopies, and then put in pots for some time to help stabilize the root system. After that, each work will be created based on the shape of the tree, depending on the product, it will take 1-3 days to arrange the miniature landscape.
Miniature kumquat trees are not only favored by people in the province, customers from many other localities also come to the garden to choose satisfactory trees. Many business units, stores, and businesses order early to decorate the space to welcome Spring or as gifts for partners and customers.
