Through grasping the situation and professional measures, on September 8, 2025, the Economic Police Department - Hai Phong City Police discovered and arrested subjects who were transporting and trading 1,274.5 kg of slaughtered pork, with a foul odor, without origin, positive for African swine fever virus from the epidemic area to companies and establishments processing food from pork in the area for consumption purposes.
After that, the Investigation Police Agency, the City Police issued a Decision to prosecute the case of "Violating regulations on food safety". Recently, the Investigation Police Agency of the City Police prosecuted 9 defendants for the act of providing and trading food originating from dead pigs and weak pigs due to African swine fever under Clause 4, Article 317 of the Penal Code.

After information from functional agencies, recorded by Lao Dong reporters, from this morning, many large supermarkets such as AEON, GO!, COOPMART... in Hai Phong no longer have products of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company (Halong Canfoco) on the shelves.
Like at GO! supermarket, the area selling Halong Canfoco canned products is empty. Winmart stores do not recognize Ha Long Canned Food products on the shelves.
At retail chains, recorded at 1:30 PM on January 8, at convenience store C.K on Kenh Duong street, Le Chan ward and store on Pham Minh Duc street (Gia Vien ward) still selling boxed meat products, Hai Phong light pole pate, boxed fish... of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company (Halong Canfoco).

On the consumer side, many people after hearing the information have also temporarily stopped using products from the Ha Long Canned Food brand. Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen (Gia Vien ward) said that Ha Long Canned Food is a long-standing brand, and is right in the city center, so parents also trust and do not buy floating goods but buy canned meat and sausages from this brand for their children to eat.
After hearing the information, my family felt very worried, so we decided to discard all the remaining products of Ha Long Canned Food, including 5 sausages and 2 boxes of meat. We hope that functional agencies will handle this case seriously, clarify information about Ha Long Canned Food products from September when the incident was discovered until now to ensure safety so that consumers can be assured" - Ms. Chuyen said.
