Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd. issued a notice on voluntary and proactive recall for prevention of 17 batches of formula milk for young children of the NAN brand imported and distributed by the company in the Vietnamese market.
According to Nestle Vietnam, during the periodic review of raw materials, Nestle Global Group discovered a potential problem related to the quality of raw materials, which is PUFA oil, supplied by a third-party supplier. This raw material is likely to have traces of Cereulide – a toxin that can be produced from Bacillus cereus bacteria – and has been used in some formula milk products produced in Europe.
Nestle representatives said that the amount of PUFA used in the above products is very small and as of now there is no evidence to show the presence of Cereulide in affected product shipments. However, in order to strictly comply with Nestle's global food safety and product quality standards, the company still proactively proceeds to recall shipments that may be related as a precautionary measure.
List of 17 product shipments subject to preventive recall:

The affected products belong to the two NAN INFINIPRO A2 and NAN OPTIPRO PLUS lines, with many different packaging specifications (400g and 800g), expiration dates from April 2027 to September 2027. Batch numbers and expiration dates are printed on the bottom of product cans for consumers to easily compare.
Nestle Vietnam notes that products and shipments not on the recall list, including lines such as NAN OptiproPlus (steps 3 and 4), NAN SupremePro (3 steps), S-26 Ultima (3 steps), PreNAN, NAN ExpertPro Lactose Free, NAN ExpertPro Total Comfort, Nutren Junior, Peptamen Junior and other products distributed by Nestle Vietnam are still guaranteed quality and completely safe to use.
Nestle Vietnam recommends that consumers immediately stop using if they own products on the preventive recall list. At the same time, customers can contact the customer care switchboard 1800 6699 (free) for advice, exchange instructions and necessary support.
Previously, Nestle was recalling many batches of formula milk for children in many countries due to the risk of Cereulide toxin contamination - a substance that can cause vomiting and abdominal pain. The recall involves some SMA powdered milk and formula milk lines, mainly in European markets, originating from supplier materials.
Nestle said it has not recorded any cases and is proceeding with recalls with maximum caution, and is committed to refunding customers.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
