On October 18, within the framework of the coffee festival associated with eco-tourism in Bung Lao commune, Dien Bien province, the "hanh tai luong" competition took place enthusiastically, attracting a large number of farmers to participate.
This is a key activity, aiming to honor coffee growers and producers and affirm the position of Muong Ang coffee.
Accordingly, 7 teams from many communes in ethnic costumes participated in 2 contents: learning knowledge and practicing coffee picking.



In the knowledge competition, farmers demonstrated their deep understanding of planting techniques, care, development policies, and sustainable production chain linkages. This is also an opportunity for people to exchange experiences and together improve the quality of coffee beans.
According to the Organizing Committee, in the coffee picking practice competition, each contestant is a true "artisan", practicing the skills of "picking correctly, picking enough". Each hand is meticulously and meticulously selected for ripe coffees.

Talking to reporters during the break, Ms. Lo Thi Sen (Phang village, Bung Lao commune) said: "I met people from other villages, competed to see who picked quickly and skillfully. Coffee is not only an economic thing for us, but also the pride of the people.
The special and practical point of this year's competition is that all coffee picked by the harvesters is purchased by garden owners on the spot at a price of 5,000 VND/kg.



According to the leader of Bung Lao commune, coffee trees play a leading role in local economic development, creating stable jobs and increasing income for people. The whole commune currently has nearly 1,000 hectares of coffee, with an annual output of about 8,500 tons.
