According to a survey, many popular pho restaurants in Hanoi have reopened. Notably, most pho restaurants have adjusted their prices to increase by 10,000 to 15,000 VND per bowl compared to normal days.
Nguyen Viet Thang, a resident of Thanh Tri (Hanoi), said that this morning he enjoyed a bowl of pho for 50,000 VND, an increase of 15,000 VND compared to usual. Despite the price increase, the number of customers coming to pho shops remains stable, showing that this traditional dish still retains its special appeal during Tet.
Ms. Le Thi Hong, an office worker in Cau Giay District, shared that on the second day of Tet, she and her family went to eat at a hot pot restaurant on Duy Tan Street. She noticed that the price of each hot pot dish increased by about 20,000 VND compared to before Tet. However, Ms. Hong said: "My family understands that during the holiday, the operating costs of restaurants increase, so the price adjustment is acceptable. The important thing is that the quality of the food and service is still good."
The pho restaurant owner said that the price increase at restaurants during Tet is mainly due to the high labor costs during the holidays, along with a sudden increase in consumer demand. Some input materials may be scarce or have slightly increased prices, which also contributes to the price adjustment.
Despite the slight price increase, many Hanoians still accept and continue to support traditional eateries. Enjoying familiar dishes in the Tet atmosphere has become an indispensable part of the local culinary culture.
According to the Ministry of Finance’s forecast, prices of food and parking services at tourist attractions and spiritual areas may continue to increase slightly in the first days of the year due to high demand. However, the increase is expected to be insignificant and under control.
In general, despite price adjustments, the food and beverage service market in Hanoi during the 2025 Lunar New Year remains stable, meeting the needs of residents and tourists.
