The Ministry of Finance said that tax management for e-commerce is being tightened with many synchronous measures. Along with perfecting the policy, the tax authority has deployed an electronic information portal dedicated to households and individuals doing e-commerce business, increasing data collection and coordinating with ministries and branches to monitor more closely.

As of February 27, 2025, 41,500 households and individuals have registered for tax, declared and paid taxes, contributing more than 258 billion VND to the state budget.

Solutions to tighten e-commerce tax management in the coming time
In order to continue to improve the effectiveness of tax management for e-commerce, the Ministry of Finance proposes a series of measures:
Amend the Law on Tax Administration and the Law on e-commerce to require logistics service providers and e-commerce platforms to provide information about individuals and business organizations.
Develop a decree guiding the responsibility of e-commerce platforms in deducting and paying taxes on behalf of business households.
Applying artificial intelligence (AI) to process big data, warning of tax evasion risks.
Strengthen inspection and examination of e-commerce activities to detect violations.
Closely coordinate with ministries and branches to share data, improve the effectiveness of tax management on digital platforms.
With the above solutions, the Ministry of Finance hopes to tighten e-commerce tax management, ensure fairness in tax obligations, and contribute to effectively increasing state budget revenue.
