According to the General Planning of Uong Bi City until 2040, the planning orientation of the area for Uong Bi golf course in Phuong Dong ward is 222.6 hectares.
In particular, the proposed land area for the project is about 170-180 hectares, in accordance with the regulations on the maximum area of a 36-hole golf course. The total estimated investment is more than 1,965 billion VND. The investor of the project is Ha Long Bay Golf Course Investment Joint Stock Company. When completed, the Uong Bi Golf Course project will create a highlight in terms of landscape architectural space, attracting tourists to visit and experience, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, services, tourism, sports and creating jobs for local people.
According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister, Quang Ninh will have 16 more golf courses, bringing the total number of golf courses in this locality to 20 golf courses.
Of which, Uong Bi City alone has 2 golf courses, including one golf course in Bac Son Ward and one in Phuong Dong Ward.
Other newly planned golf courses include: An Bien Golf Course (Ha Long), golf courses in coal mine recovery areas (Ha Long), Quang Hanh Golf Course (Cam Pha), Cai Bau hill golf course (Van Don district), Ngoc Vung island golf course (Van Don district), Quan Lan island golf course (Van Don district), Tien Yen golf course (Tien Yen district), Binh Ngoc - Tra Co golf course (Mong Cai city), Vinh Trung - Vinh Thuc golf course (Mong Cai city), Cai Chien golf course (Hai Ha district), Dam Ha golf course (Dam Ha district), Binh Lieu golf course (Binh Lieu district).
After the golf courses that were put into operation before, including: FLC Ha Long Golf Course, Tuan Chau Golf Course, Mong Cai International Golf Course, recently, Quang Ninh has another high-class golf course put into use, which is Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course, Dong Trieu City.
Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course is planned and invested in an area of nearly 130 hectares, located in An Sinh Commune, Dong Trieu City, invested by Silk Path Group, with a total capital of over 1,200 billion VND.
The golf course is located in an area with poetic natural landscapes, surrounded by majestic mountains and fresh lakes, a perfect combination of high-class design, modern amenities and ideal geographical location with 27 holes according to international golf course criteria, serving about 800 guests/day. Of which, there are 18 PGA standard holes with diverse terrain, for major tournaments and 9 holes for beginners.
