At this time, Ninh Binh people have harvested the rice crop, after harvesting, there will be straw left. Previously, people burned straw right in the fields, but for many years, straw has been used for other purposes. Therefore, people rush to the fields to harvest straw to earn extra income.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan (Nghia Son commune, Ninh Binh province) said: "Previously, because there was no need to use it, after harvesting rice, we often spread it all over the fields to burn, creating organic fertilizer for the rice fields. However, in recent years, the local government has recommended and pointed out many benefits of straw, so farmers have known how to take advantage of this to earn extra income by collecting and selling it to traders".
To increase productivity and facilitate collection, people invest in straw coilers. This method both helps clear the fields and brings in high income.
As a household investing in straw rolling machines, Mr. Tran Van Dien (Nghia Son commune, Ninh Binh province) said: "five years ago, when I saw the increasing demand for straw in farming and animal husbandry, especially in the southern provinces, the post-harvest straw rolling model brought high economic efficiency, contributing to environmental protection, I decided to invest".

According to Mr. Dien, on average, a coil receives about 1,000 straw coils per day, with prices ranging from 15,000 - 30,000 VND/Coil depending on the quality. With the above price, the device owner can earn over 15 million VND per day. However, the work is only carried out when the weather is sunny and the straw has been dried.
Many households who do not have time to collect also give straws for people with machines to help clean the fields, facilitating continued production.
It is known that a crop only lasts nearly 2 months, so people finish harvesting and in the sun take advantage of the time to bring out the machines to roll the straw fields. Wherever straw rolls, there are buyers, both creating stable income and contributing to reducing the situation of straw burning causing pollution after the harvest season.
