Personalizing gifts
This year's gift trend has many changes, reflecting the shift in consumer tastes and needs. The gifts chosen not only have spiritual value but also emphasize practicality, helping recipients to use them for a long time.
In which, the trend of personalization continues to be popular. Familiar products such as jewelry, cosmetics, electronics... are designed, engraved with names or personal messages to create a unique mark, avoiding duplication.
Choosing a shopping center and supermarket as a place to buy gifts on March 8th, Mr. Nguyen Hai Dung (20 years old, Hanoi) said that he had researched in advance and decided to give his girlfriend a lipstick with a name engraved on it. "Although I don't know much about lipstick colors, I chose a brand with a name engraved service in advance, and then I will choose the appropriate color with my girlfriend" - Mr. Dung shared.
According to Mr. Dung, the choice of gifts also depends on each person's budget. "Besides March 8th, there are many other anniversaries, so I always have a budget available for this. Sometimes I also give gifts on no occasion to create surprises. Making handmade items myself is also a way to give gifts that is both economical and meaningful" - Mr. Dung added.
Recorded at some large supermarket systems, the space has been decorated early with flowers, balloons and diverse gift box display areas. Ms. Ha Thi Kim Anh (Khuong Dinh ward, Hanoi) takes the opportunity to buy gifts for her mother and female colleagues.
Ms. Kim Anh said: "Not only men, but I myself also want to show concern to my mother and colleagues. When choosing gifts for my mother, I prioritize familiar products such as shower gel and skin care. With colleagues or bosses, I will choose more neutral gifts such as tea sets and pottery products.
According to her, besides aesthetics, practicality is an important criterion. "I like gifts that can be used for a long time. The budget depends on each person's income, but the most important thing is still the heart and suitability to the recipient's preferences" - Ms. Kim Anh said.
Regarding prices, Ms. Kim Anh said that this year's price is quite reasonable: "A gift box including 2 products such as shower gel and skin cream costs more than 100,000 VND, suitable for many customer segments".
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Ngo Thi Mai Huong - sales staff of Unilever Vietnam - said that purchasing power usually increases sharply on weekends close to March 8. "Bath gel and skin care products are competitive from packaging, gift boxes to promotions. This year many programs are integrated, so prices are deeply reduced, for example, products with original prices of 155,000 VND now cost 109,000 VND" - Ms. Huong informed.
According to Ms. Huong, to attract customers, brands are promoting combo sales. For example, when buying makeup remover and facial cleanser, cream will be given as a gift. Packaging is designed to be compact, with characteristic tones, convenient as gifts.
Gifts 8. 3 unique rise to prominence
The 8/3 gift market on online platforms also recorded a boom with many unique products. Instead of traditional fresh bouquets, many consumers choose flowers from vegetables - both new and can be used in family meals. Meanwhile, Lego assembled flowers attract young customers thanks to their high durability, can be displayed for a long time and create a new feeling.
In addition, many health care gift boxes such as supplements, herbal tea, handheld massage machines or combo products to support digestion and skin care are also being sought after a lot. This trend shows that buyers are increasingly interested in sustainability, practicality, putting the health and long-term experience of the recipient first.
