On the morning of September 16, in Hanoi, the Department of Science, Technology and Digital Transformation, Ministry of Industry and Trade had a working session with Hanoi University of Science and Technology to exchange potentials and cooperation orientations in scientific research, technology development, innovation and digital transformation, associated with the development requirements of industrial and strategic technology sectors of the Industry and Trade sector.
Attending the working session, on the side of the Department of Science, Technology and Digital Transformation were Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director; Mr. Dao Duy Anh, Deputy Director and representatives of leaders and specialists of relevant departments. On the side of Hanoi University of Science and Technology were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Hai Tung, Deputy Director of the University and representatives of specialized units.
At the working session, the representative of the University gave an overview of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, its position, role, development orientation and research and training capacity of the University.
According to the report, Hanoi University of Science and Technology orients its development towards a self-reliant, modern, internationally integrated university model, taking scientific research and innovation as one of the important driving forces; and focusing on improving research capacity in the fields of technology, strategic industry, core technology and digital technology.
In cooperation relations with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the University has participated in contributing opinions and developing draft legal documents, decrees, decisions, and circulars in the field of Industry and Trade; sending experts to participate in working groups, drafting groups of national technical regulations and scientific councils; and at the same time chairing scientific and technological tasks at the ministerial and national levels managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The University also participates in implementing tasks under Project DA 16/08 and some other tasks as required.
From the existing cooperation foundation, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation directions in the coming time, focusing on promoting research strengths, the team of experts and the laboratory system of Hanoi University of Science and Technology to participate in solving major problems of the Industry and Trade sector.
Notably, the contents mentioned are associated with strategic technology development orientations such as ensuring energy security, modernizing electricity and fuel systems towards green and smart; developing green hydrogen, biofuels, energy storage systems; developing digital technology, artificial intelligence, robots and automation; modernizing trade, smart logistics, traceability; developing green, smart production, advanced materials and technologies serving the processing and manufacturing industry.
These are also groups of products and technologies identified in the documents orienting the implementation of strategic technology development tasks under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Speaking at the working session, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Digital Transformation, acknowledged the results of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the past time, and exchanged views on the requirement to strengthen links between state management agencies, research and training institutions and businesses in research, development and application of science, technology, and innovation.
Director Nguyen Thi Lam Giang emphasized that the cooperation orientation needs to be directed towards application-oriented tasks, solving practical problems of the Industry and Trade sector, and at the same time promoting the effectiveness of research resources, experts and existing facilities of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The close connection between the University's research capacity and the industry's technology development needs is expected to contribute to bringing research results into practice, promoting technology transfer and forming products and solutions that can be applied in production and business.
The working session is an opportunity for the Department of Science, Technology and Digital Transformation and Hanoi University of Science and Technology to strengthen connections, expand cooperation in research and strategic technology development of the Industry and Trade sector, thereby contributing to forming more effective coordination mechanisms between state management agencies and higher education institutions, research and enterprises (3-house model) in implementing scientific, technological and innovation tasks of the Industry and Trade sector.
