VCCI announces Private Economic Reporting Initiative: Expectations to promote innovation and develop the private economy

On September 11, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry held a seminar on PCI 2.0 methods and the Ceremony to announce the Vietnam Annual Private Economic Reporting Initiative, the program was accompanied by Tan Hiep Phat Trading - Service Company Limited as a founding partner.

This initiative marks an important step for VCCI in providing comprehensive and in-depth information on the current situation, opportunities and challenges of the private economic sector - an important driving force of the Vietnamese economy.

Regarding the goal of the initiative, according to the research group, the Vietnam Annual Private Economic Report will be a product published periodically and objectively, providing reliable reference information for policy makers, business support organizations, business associations, industry associations and the Vietnamese private business community.

The report will combine statistical data analysis, combined with feedback from the actual voice of businesses on the process of accessing resources, implementing administrative procedures, digital transformation and sustainable development. On that basis, the annual report will propose practical policy recommendations to help improve the quality of local economic management, enhance provincial competitiveness, promote innovation and the development of the private economic sector in Vietnam.

The program will apply the methodology of the Provincial Competitiveness Index 2.0, the upgraded version of the PCI index implemented by VCCI over the past 20 years, updating new growth drivers such as digital transformation, innovation, green economic development and local governance quality.

PCI 2.0 will support provincial and municipal governments with a more solid foundation to promote environmental improvement - business investment in the new context after the merger, as well as implement the Central's strategic directives on economic development, science and technology, innovation, international integration, etc.

VCCI implements this initiative with the support of Tan Hiep Phat Company as a founding partner. The cooperation between research organizations, representatives of the business community, stakeholders from central ministries, branches to local business associations and research experts will play a key role in perfecting the methodology and ensuring the applicable, effectiveness and objectivity of the report.

VCCI believes that through in-depth analysis reports and continuous dialogues between stakeholders, this Initiative will contribute to building a fair, transparent, open business environment and creating conditions for private enterprises to develop sustainably. VCCI representative emphasized the desire for the Initiative to become a regular feedback channel between the business community and management agencies, helping policies to be adjusted promptly, in accordance with reality.

"From the perspective of VCCI - an organization representing the business community, reporting without using foreign funding but with the support and support of Vietnamese private enterprises such as Tan Hiep Phat is an important milestone. I think this shows the confidence of Vietnamese people, confidence in domestic resources to promote positive changes for the country through the people of Vietnam and the resources of Vietnam" - Deputy General Secretary, Head of the Legal Department of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Dau Anh Tuan shared.

According to a representative of Tan Hiep Phat Company, VCCI's annual Vietnam Private Economic Report program helps identify factors that hinder the competitiveness of private enterprises in business operations. In addition to recommending removing and resolving obstacles, Tan Hiep Phat proposed that VCCI mention a fair competitive environment between types of enterprises in this report.

Vietnam's private enterprises will grow strongly, contributing to Vietnam's achievement of the 2045 target" - Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung emphasized.
