This was information during a working session of Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang with a working delegation led by Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Deborah Rivas Saavedra on the occasion of attending the 42nd Session of the Vietnam - Cuba Intergovernmental Committee on the afternoon of August 27, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to information released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the afternoon of August 28, at the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation of bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation; trade promotion; and the implementation of the Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement.

Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and prioritizes special cooperation with Cuba, emphasizing that the Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement is an important legal framework to promote economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the fact that Cuban enterprises will participate for the first time in the Sourcing International Supply Chain Connection Exhibition 2025 organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Ho Chi Minh City in September; and announced that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is organizing a delegation of more than 20 Vietnamese enterprises to attend and display products at the FIHAV 2025 Fair scheduled to take place from November 24 to 29 in Havana, Cuba.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, Deputy Minister Deborah Rivas Saavedra agreed on the importance of effectively implementing the Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement and invited the Vietnamese working delegation to Cuba to organize the 1st Session of the Joint Committee for the implementation of the Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement.
Deputy Minister Deborah Rivas Saavedra highly appreciated the diversity in the investment cooperation model between Vietnamese and Cuban enterprises. The Deputy Minister suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen trade promotion activities, connect businesses and promote cooperation models between localities of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to study and expand cooperation in the fields of: Food production, renewable energy, oil and gas, tourism, biotechnology, etc.
