The conference gathers representatives of management agencies, international organizations, experts and domestic and international businesses to promote the development of the Halal tourism ecosystem and expand cooperation with Islamic markets around the globe.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang emphasized that Vietnam has many advantages to develop Halal tourism thanks to a stable political environment, diverse cultural identity, rich cuisine and a connecting position between Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the Middle East. In 2025, Vietnam welcomed more than 21 million international visitors, of which Muslim visitors accounted for about 600,000, showing that the growth room is still very large.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong said that Vietnam has all the conditions to become an attractive destination for Halal tourists in the region when it possesses advantages in geographical location, rich tourism resources, cultural identity and stable socio-political environment.
According to the Deputy Minister, to welcome this opportunity, Vietnam needs to synchronously develop a Halal tourism ecosystem, from accommodation establishments, restaurants, prayer spaces to digital platforms and human resources understanding the culture and beliefs of Muslim tourists.
Contributing to Halal tourism development solutions, Vietjet Trade Director Ha Nang Viet participated in sharing perspectives on promoting connectivity and developing the Halal ecosystem.

At the conference, Vietjet affirmed its role as an aviation bridge with a wide flight network, contributing to connecting Vietnam with potential Halal markets in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. Through expanding the flight network and improving service quality, the airline aims to create more favorable conditions for tourists from Islamic markets to access Vietnam, and at the same time contribute to promoting the image of Vietnamese destinations to international friends.
The airline also shared its orientation to develop Halal passenger-friendly services, from standard meals, improving flight experience to strengthening technology application and cooperation with partners in the ecosystem.
In particular, Vietjet introduced the Initiative for Connecting Halal Vietnam (Vietnam Halal Connect) - an open cooperation platform to connect aviation, airports, localities, tourism businesses, hotels, restaurants, Halal certification units and domestic and international technology partners.
The initiative aims to build a convenient, synchronous and reliable Halal journey, contributing to making Vietnam a friendly, modern and competitive Halal destination in the region.

In the context of the global Halal tourism market continuing to grow, the completion of the service ecosystem, expansion of aviation connectivity and strengthening cooperation between parties are considered important factors for Vietnam to effectively exploit this potential customer segment. Initiatives shared at the conference, including Vietnam Halal Connect, are expected to contribute to making Vietnam a friendly, modern and competitive Halal destination in the region.
