The inauguration ceremony of Terminal T3 was attended by Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, leaders of ministries and branches. On the Ho Chi Minh City side, there was Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
Terminal T3 is one of 80 key projects and works across the country to be simultaneously inaugurated and started on April 19 - towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Before attending the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony to announce the pilot implementation of solutions for applying electronic identification, authentication and biometric identification in boarding procedures at the T3 terminal, organized by the Ministry of Public Security.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that the application of modern technology when doing aviation procedures helps save time and reduce negativity. This is a very rapid step forward to serve people and businesses.
From the application at Terminal T3, the Prime Minister assigned the task to units to continue implementing new technology at other airports across the country.

Started in August 2022, after more than 20 months of drastic construction, "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "construction through holidays, through Tet", terminal T3 was completed 2 months ahead of schedule.
This is the largest domestic station in the country with a designed capacity of 20 million passengers/year, serving 7,000 passengers/peak hour. Terminal T3 helps increase the total operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers/year.
The passenger terminal has a scale of 1 basement, 4 upper floors, with a total floor area of up to 112,500 m2. Design a separate terminal into two commute and destination levels to optimize traffic flow.
The terminal is equipped with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic bag drop counters, 42 automatic check-in kiosks, and 27 train departure gates - including 13 cage gates and 14 bus gates.
In addition, the terminal has 6 departure baggage processing islands, 10 arrival baggage return islands and 25 security control gates, including 8 automatic security control gates and 1 separate area serving VIP guests, businessmen and priority passengers.
The highlight at Terminal T3 is the ACV Self Services system - a modern aviation technology solution being deployed at leading smart airports such as Incheon (Korea), Changi (Singapore). Passengers can check-in at the kiosk on their own, release their luggage and move through the electronic gate to board the plane.
In particular, Terminal T3 applies a chip-embedded citizen identification card (CCCD) and facial ID technology during the procedure.
All of these technology applications are operated on a modern telecommunications and digital infrastructure platform provided by VNPT Group. The system ensures smooth and powerful connectivity with free WiFi, convenient WiFi marketing, 5G waves covering the entire area, and an Internet of Things (IBS) emulation system in crowded locations and basements.
In addition to the passenger terminal, the project also includes a high-rise bus station combined with non-aerospace services - a complex with a scale of 2 basements, 4 upper floors, construction floor area of 130,000 m2. This is a multi-purpose area serving parking, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and amenities for passengers and people.
On the inauguration day of April 19, Vietnam Airlines will operate 49 flights departing and landing at Terminal T3, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Hanoi and Van Don (Quang Ninh), serving nearly 12,000 passengers.
