According to a report by the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, currently, the VSIP Lang Son Industrial Park project is maintaining a positive construction progress and is beginning to record positive results in attracting secondary investment.
The project has a total area of 599.76 ha, a total investment of 6,361 billion VND and is divided into 3 implementation phases.
To date, the investor has disbursed over 1,011 billion VND, reaching 15.9% of the total investment capital of the entire project.
In phase 1 alone, the investor has completed the leveling of the land plot and constructed a roadbed with sufficient height for 120 hectares.

Key infrastructure projects are also taking shape, of which clean water treatment plants reach 55% of volume, wastewater treatment plants reach 44%.
Site clearance work for phase 1 (about 200 ha) has completed 100% of measurement and inventory.
To date, the government has handed over over over 216 hectares of land to investors to implement the project. Lang Son Provincial People's Committee has also issued decisions to lease land in 3 phases with a total area of 170 hectares.
Also according to the unit, gradually synchronized infrastructure is helping VSIP Lang Son create great attraction on the race to welcome investment capital flows.
Currently, 9 secondary investors have signed agreements to reserve premises to lease back premises with a total area of about 32.9 hectares.

Notably, the Management Board has officially granted Investment Registration Certificates for 2 large FDI projects, including the project of Yuncheng Plate Making Co., Ltd.
This unit is expected to produce and process types of copper-tube printed axles with a scale of 2.38 hectares, with a total investment of 167.7 billion VND (equivalent to 6.364 million USD).
The project of Fanya Safety PTE. LTD is expected to build a factory to produce labor protection gloves on an area of 4 hectares, with a total investment of up to 790.9 billion VND (equivalent to 30 million USD).
Besides the bright spots, the investor is still facing some problems on the ground.
The construction site of phase 1 is still in a "smooth" state because the relocation of all houses has not been completed. There are still 10 graves and 6 cases that have not been relocated out of the project area.

At the same time, the relocation of existing technical infrastructure works (35 KVA power lines, BTS stations, telecommunications...) is being implemented very slowly because people do not agree to let the power line pass through family land.
These factors prevent the project from building synchronous and seamless technical infrastructure.
In particular, the IP is facing obstacles in power grid planning. The power source for the project is not synchronized between the detailed construction plan (110/22kV power supply) and the power grid development plan of Lang Son province (showing the 35kV medium voltage line).
Moreover, the project does not have a stable power source due to the slow progress of pulling the 110kV power line and implementing the 220kV Dong Mo substation.
To speed up the project, the Management Board proposed that the People's Committee of Lang Son province soon direct relevant units to focus on definitively resolving site problems and leasing the remaining 30 hectares of land of phase 1," the unit representative said.
This agency also requested departments and branches to soon synchronously adjust electricity planning, accelerate connecting infrastructure outside fences so that VSIP Lang Son IP works in accordance with design and planning.
