Lao Dong Newspaper leads in digital transformation of the press
This is the result announced at the National Press Conference summarizing the work in 2024, implementing the task by 2025. On the basis of 43 evaluation criteria, the Center supports the conversion of general press gears and statistics into 59 important indicators to announce the 2024 digital transformation picture.

In 2023, Lao Dong Newspaper achieved success when it was in the Top 3 press agencies with outstanding achievements in digital transformation announced by the Department of Journalism (Ministry of Information and Communications).
Not stopping there, entering 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to implement many solutions in the digital transformation process, achieving an excellent level, increasing by 2 ranks from the number 3 position in 2023 to the number 1 position to lead the Central press agencies in terms of maturity in digital transformation of the press.
In particular, the application of artificial intelligence to the professional processes of the press and other departments to optimize operations has been vigorously implemented. One example is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the news production process to create newsletters using virtual editors. In particular, in 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper applied AI to translate all content to English version, creating English subtitles for videos.
Under the direct direction of Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Hien, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first issue (August 14, 1929 - August 14, 2024), Lao Dong Newspaper launched the English version of Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper with AI technology, implementing the General Confederation's orientation on expanding information to international friends.

Technology is built from a solid foundation and human resources are equipped with new knowledge, two factors that Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Hien paid special attention to in the development strategy of electronic newspapers.
Since 2017, I have determined that if I want to develop Lao Dong Newspaper, there are two important factors: people and technology. One of the first things I did in the development strategy of Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper was to re-establish an IT room to be proactive in techniques, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien recalled the time when he first took on the task.
At that time, press agencies invested heavily to bring new and modern technologies from outside partners, but Lao Dong Newspaper had a very different direction. From people who have been attached to the newspaper for decades, the IT department was re-established. All software used for electronic newspapers are written by the newspaper's IT team, including the outstanding role of programmer Vo Nguyen An Binh.
Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Hien shared: No one understands Lao Dong Newspaper like those who have been attached to it since the early days. I do not use completely new people, but I build an information technology team from people who have been passionate about the newspaper for a long time, then gradually expand and improve the skills of technology engineers, to meet the trend of modern journalism. This does not bring immediate but sustainable results".
And reality has proven that, up to this point, Lao Dong Newspaper is still one of the very few newspapers completely autonomous in technology.
At the end of 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper established an Artificial Intelligence Application Team with the purpose of researching the application of AI in content management tools (CMS), applying AI to practical activities of reporters such as supporting columns, making Seo, tag, direction for article implementation, synthesizing big data - big data... The Artificial Intelligence Application Team coordinated with the Journalists Association to organize professional exchange classes, updating new knowledge about AI and instructing reporters to use AI in a smart and effective way.
Speaking about 2025, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Hien determined that this will be a peak year of digital transformation, strong application of AI in all aspects of the publishing office's activities, from content creation, marketing, digital office, digital governance... to improve efficiency and efficiency of work in all departments, and well perform the political tasks assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Lao Dong Newspaper continues to promote the implementation of live television on tools and platforms to convey from the stage to the studio and studio. Build connection options via 4G, 5G, fiber optic cables, ... to connect through separate systems such as TVU systems; connect through platforms, online communication tools... According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien, after 26 years of establishment and development, electronic labor newspaper has left many imprints.
