Supporting the dissemination and education of young workers
In recent years, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union have signed an activity coordination program, focusing on 3 main tasks, including: Propagating the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies; mobilizing union members and young people to participate in emulation movements; caring for, supporting, accompanying, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and young workers; developing union members and association members; building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization and Youth Union organization.
The two sides coordinated to implement 4 contents. First, coordinate the organization of activities during the Youth Month. Second, coordinate the organization of activities during Workers' Month. Third, coordinate the organization of support and care activities for children of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, remote areas in difficult areas, and boarding houses on the occasion of Children's International Day 1.6, the opening of the new school year; the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Fourth, coordinate the organization and mobilization of social resources to support and care for union members and young workers in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year...
These activities are implemented from the grassroots level. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year every year, local Labor Federations organize to care for union members and workers, including many young workers. Not only giving and giving support gifts, the Trade Union also organizes free buses to take them home for Tet and pick them up to work again after the Tet holiday.
During the Workers' Month organized by the Trade Union, many young workers enjoyed activities such as dialogues with local leaders and local National Assembly delegations to express their thoughts and aspirations.
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the period of 2017 - 2022, one of the results is the effective implementation of caring for, supporting, accompanying, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of union members and young workers.
In particular, "Together to make Tet" is a program coordinated by the parties with many attractive activities such as Tet decoration, banh chung packaging, art performances, folk games, as well as shopping for Tet items at preferential prices, original price booths, giving thousands of gifts to workers, young workers... in difficult circumstances.
The sides also coordinated to organize the program "dialogue with young workers" with the participation of more than 1,000 young workers in Dong Nai province, focusing on discussing and answering issues related to employment, income, supporting workers facing difficulties affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, implementation of policies on labor, wages, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance.
In many places, it has coordinated with business leaders to organize forums and dialogues for union members and young workers to express their thoughts and aspirations in carrying out production and business activities at the unit. In particular, some places such as the Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor and the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor also organize collective weddings for young worker couples in difficult circumstances.
Also in the period of 2017 - 2022, more than 3 million union members and young workers were supported with legal advice... Coordinated activities to improve the spiritual life of young workers received special attention. Trade unions at all levels and Youth Union ministries have coordinated to organize 65,000 sports, cultural and artistic festivals, with 5.8 million union members and young workers participating.
Coordinate the organization of volunteer youth teams
One of the contents of the 2023 - 2028 Coordination Program between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is to coordinate the organization of volunteer youth teams associated with building a "Self-managed Workers' Group"; building a model of "Youth workers' groups and groups on the charge of preventing and combating social evils" in enterprises.
The two sides also implemented activities of providing information, equipping knowledge, methods and skills to help young workers and laborers self-prevent and improve their bravery in fighting against distorted proposals of hostile forces.
For enterprises that have not yet established a Trade Union or Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the two agencies will coordinate to organize propaganda activities to raise awareness of young workers in establishing Trade Union, Youth Union, and Association organizations at enterprises to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights of young workers; at the same time, propagate and mobilize business owners through specific activities to move towards establishing an organization at enterprises. Maintain and promote the establishment of new clubs, groups, and youth union branches for workers in boarding houses.
reality shows that it is possible to concretize activities into models such as the Youth Union, the Team Council to call on students to contribute books, school supplies, toys to give to workers' children in boarding houses; accompanying students and organizing summer games for workers' children, volunteering youth; popularizing information technology for workers; guiding workers who want to take exams to universities, colleges, vocational schools, etc.
