2,000 free train and bus tickets for workers
To take care of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" with many activities such as the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market, giving gifts to union members and laborers in difficult circumstances. The market will distribute 40,000 shopping vouchers (each voucher worth 100,000 VND) to union members and laborers in the city. In particular, more than 20,000 union members and laborers in difficult circumstances, having work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, losing their jobs, reducing working hours... will be supported with Tet gifts, each person 1 million VND.
In particular, this year, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will also support 2,000 train and bus tickets and organize free trips to take workers home to celebrate Tet. Mr. Le Van Dai - Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: "Currently, many workers and laborers have registered for the Union Bus to return home to celebrate Tet with their families. This is an activity in a series of activities to care for union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025".
According to Mr. Dai, in addition to the Union bus, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also has free Tet train tickets for workers and laborers in Da Nang to return home to celebrate Tet with their families.
The Da Nang City Labor Federation also organized visits and gifts for workers who did not return home for Tet, organized meetings and encouraged grassroots union officials, and visited workers working on New Year's Eve... Unions at all levels also proactively participated with functional agencies to grasp the situation, inspect and supervise the payment of wages and bonuses to workers during Tet. Timely detect and have solutions to ensure the rights of workers in businesses facing difficulties, unpaid wages, unable to pay wages and bonuses, owners who abscond or temporarily suspend operations, dissolve, or go bankrupt.
More than a ticket
Receiving the Union bus ticket at the end of the year, Ms. Tran Thi Than, a worker at the Central Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, was very emotional. Because this year, Ms. Than and her daughter, Phan Thi Dieu Hien, will have the opportunity to celebrate Tet in their hometown of Ha Tinh with their family.
“This is the third year our family has received Tet bus tickets from the Union. We are really happy, thanks to that we have saved a lot of travel expenses,” said Ms. Tran Thi Than.
Ms. Than said that the trip from Da Nang to Ha Tinh would cost more than 500,000 VND/ticket. If both mother and child returned together, it would cost more than 1 million VND, so she was hesitant. Therefore, thanks to the Union bus, every year Ms. Than and her child were able to reunite and enjoy time with their family.
Ms. Than also added that her current job at the Central Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company is quite stable. Her salary is enough for her to cover her family's living expenses, but every time Tet comes, Ms. Than is worried. This year, thanks to saving a lot of money from bus tickets, Ms. Than will use this money to buy Tet gifts for her grandchildren in the countryside.
The first time receiving a ticket from the Union bus, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huong, a worker at Dong A University in Da Nang, was moved. Because the Union has constantly cared for and looked after the lives of workers, civil servants, and laborers, especially those in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet.
“This year I plan to return to my hometown in Quang Binh on December 24 and luckily the Union supported me with a bus ticket to return, so I was very happy and surprised,” Ms. Huong shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My, from the University of Architecture in Da Nang, also received a Union bus ticket to celebrate Tet with her family in Vinh City, Nghe An Province. However, due to a lot of work at the end of the year, Ms. My plans to give the bus ticket to workers in more difficult circumstances while she herself will stay in Da Nang to continue working.
The Tet bus tickets from the Trade Union not only help reduce financial burdens but also bring warmth, love and practical care to workers, especially those in difficult circumstances.
