On October 31, the Labor Federation of Thoai Son district held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish a Basket Weaving Union in Thoai Giang commune.
Mr. Do Ngoc Nam - Chairman of Thoai Son District Labor Federation - along with representatives of relevant authorities and dozens of workers working in this field attended.
This is a new model of grassroots trade union organization, first established in Thoai Son district after the District Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term. This is also the first grassroots trade union established in Thoai Son district.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the leadership of Thoai Son District Labor Federation, Mr. Do Ngoc Nam presented the decision to establish the grassroots union; announced the decision to recognize 15 workers as union members. At the same time, appointed the provisional Executive Committee of the Basket Weaving Grassroots Union according to the provisions of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Ngoc Nam requested the Executive Board of the grassroots Trade Union to step up propaganda so that union members can grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and legal regulations on labor and trade unions; continue to pay attention to the material and spiritual life, ensure jobs and income for union members and workers. At the same time, he hoped that new union members would actively participate in labor emulation movements, increase productivity and work efficiency.
On this occasion, Thoai Son District Labor Federation also gave each union member a gift worth 200,000 VND and presented the Executive Committee with a union identification shirt.
