On February 4, it was noted that at enterprises with a large number of workers in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, most of the workers had returned to work after Tet.
At ETOP Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Industrial Park B1 Tien Hung, Phu My town), more than 3,000 workers were excited to start production in the first days of the new year. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai - Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union - said that more than 95% of workers were present to stabilize production after the Tet holiday.
"Currently, there are about 200 workers who have asked for leave to return to their hometowns. This year, with an abundant number of orders, jobs and income for workers will be better. We also plan to recruit about 1,000 more workers to operate the new garment factory," said Ms. Mai.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Chang Chun Vina Company Limited (Long Dat District) said that the company welcomed workers back to work after Tet. The Board of Directors also gave New Year's lucky money directly into the workers' salaries.
"More than 90% of the workforce, equivalent to more than 2,000 workers, have returned to stable work," Mr. Chung added.
According to Mr. Le Van Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, in some enterprises with a long Tet holiday schedule, until February 5 or February 12 (such as some seafood processing and construction enterprises...), some union members and employees have not returned to work. Or some employees combine annual leave with returning to work later.
In early 2025, there will be less job hopping, but instead, most workers want to have stable jobs. Businesses also strive to find orders and maintain production and business activities to ensure stability and attachment between businesses and workers.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the number of workers returning to work at enterprises in the province reached 87% (222,067/255,250 workers), an increase of 22% compared to 2024 (only reaching 65%). Of which, about 82% of workers outside industrial parks go to work, and about 91% of workers in industrial parks go to work.
As for informal sector workers (in the fields of trade, services, small-scale production, agriculture, etc.), the number of workers returning to work is estimated at 80% (about 300,000/386,000 workers), and most will return to work from the 10th day of Tet.
