Before moving to their new home, the family of Tran Van Lanh - a worker at Tam Ngoc One Member Co., Ltd. (Co Do district, Can Tho city) - lived in an old house built with temporary trees and corrugated iron on the land given by his parents.
Over time, the children grew up, the house also seriously deteriorated, the structure was not guaranteed but there were no conditions to repair. Realizing the difficulties of the family, the Labor Federation of Co Do district promptly deployed support for union members to build a Trade Union Shelter.
The shelter was built in the style of a level 4 house (corrugated iron roof, walls, tiled floor) with a total value of about 150 million VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund branch in Can Tho supported the family with 50 million VND.
After nearly 3 months of construction, the shelter was completed and put into use. On the day of moving into the new shelter, Mr. Lanh's family expressed their emotions and thanked the locality, the unit's Trade Union, the District Labor Federation and the City Labor Federation for their attention and support, helping the family to have a new, spacious house.
For Mr. Lanh and his wife, the new home is not only a place to shelter the family from the rain and sun, but it is also a motivation for both of them to work with peace of mind and continue to strive for the future.
