Da Nang Labor Union provides emergency support to people in flooded areas

Da Nang - The Union and the City Youth Union joined hands to mobilize 1,000 gifts to share with workers and laborers in flooded areas.

After the historic flood caused heavy damage, the Da Nang City Labor Federation coordinated with the City Youth Union to organize a visiting program, giving 1,000 gifts with a total value of 300 million VND to union members and workers severely affected in the areas of Go Noi, Duy Xuyen, Thu Bon, Dai Loc, and Vu Gia.

The working group was present in Go Noi, Duy Xuyen, Thu Bon communes (Da Nang city) to visit and encourage union members' families and workers who suffered heavy losses due to floods.

At each destination, the delegation presented 200 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, including essential necessities. Representatives of the working group directly visited, shared and encouraged workers to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives after the flood.

Workers in flooded areas are in great need of community cooperation. We hope that these gifts will give people more strength to soon overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives" - Mr. Le Van Dai shared.

On the morning of November 1, the delegation went to Dai Loc and Vu Gia communes, completing the giving of 1,000 gifts, with a total cost of 300 million VND from the mobilization of the Labor Federation and the Da Nang City Youth Union.

In parallel with this activity, the City Labor Federation has directed grassroots unions, commune and ward unions to urgently review and count union members and workers affected by floods, and promptly propose support plans. The direct support level for union members affected by the damage is 2 million VND/person, while flood-prone forces were visited and encouraged with 3 million VND/point.

Previously, many grassroots trade unions in the area quickly deployed visiting and emergency support activities, promptly sharing with rescue forces, militia and workers in severely affected areas.
