The victim was identified as Doan V.D (born in 1998), residing in Bac Son hamlet, Thung Nai commune, Phu Tho province.
According to initial information, the incident occurred at around 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 31, victim D attended a wedding at the Chua Thac Bo temple area, where a wedding tent was set up close to the Da River bank (in the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Reservoir area).
While moving from the shore to the floating area on the river, the victim passed a small bridge about 5 meters long. Due to the missed step, the victim unfortunately fell into the water through a gap.
This area is about 9-10 meters deep.
At the time of the incident, many witnesses witnessed it, some jumped down to rescue but could not find the victim due to deep water and complicated flow.
Immediately afterwards, the authorities and local people organized a search, but the rescue process encountered many difficulties because it was dark.
At around 11am on November 1, the authorities found the victim's body and handed it over to the family for funeral arrangements.
