Phu Tho - After a period of construction, two landslides on Provincial Road 435 through Muong Hoa commune have been repaired, helping people travel more safely.

On October 7, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, two serious landslides at Km27+750 and Km28+400 (through Muong Hoa commune) on Provincial Road 435 connecting Hoa Binh ward with the lake bed area have been repaired. The road surface has been paved with asphalt and air, allowing vehicles to travel safely.

These are locations that were severely damaged by prolonged heavy rain and the impact of storm No. 2 in July 2024.

Provincial Road 435 is considered a traffic artery, connecting the commune center with the hydroelectric reservoir area, where many community tourism and agricultural and forestry production activities are concentrated. After the landslide occurred, people's travel and trade were interrupted, many tourist attractions were temporarily isolated.

In that situation, on December 25, 2024, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province (now Phu Tho province) issued an order to build an emergency project to overcome the landslide incident.

The project has a total investment of nearly 70 billion VND, using capital to increase land use fee collection in 2024. By March 26, 2025, the Department of Construction approved the construction drawing design with a total estimated cost of more than 63 billion VND.

The project started at the end of April 2025, with a joint venture of Dong Nam Company and Phu Tho Mechanical Company as the contractor.

At the two landslides, the project builds two Permanent overpasses with reinforced concrete structure, in the form of continuous span bridges, each span is 12m long, the abutment and pillars of the bridge are placed on a bored pile system with a diameter of 1,000 - 1,200m.

Of which, the bridge at Km27+750 is about 96m long and 9m wide; the bridge at Km28+400 is about 108m long and 9m wide.

Mr. Le Sy Hao (53 years old, trading at Ngoi Hoa port) shared: "This is a vital route leading to communes along the lake, where there are many community tourism attractions. Now that the project has been completed, people's travel, trade and tourism development are much more convenient".

Regarding the repair and remediation work, Mr. Dang Trung Kien - representative of the Phu Tho Traffic Construction and Maintenance Project Management Board - said that the project has so far completed the items according to the approved design documents, and is conducting industrial cleaning for the entire route to serve the technical acceptance work.

"The project was completed in September 2025. The implementation process went smoothly, only having a short interruption due to the impact of the recent heavy rain," Mr. Kien informed.
