On August 29, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor held a ceremony to present 5 Union Shelters to union members with difficult housing circumstances. Attending were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghia, Member of the Standing Committee - Head of the Provincial Federation of Labor Organization Department, representatives of local authorities, grassroots trade unions (CDCS) and supported families.

The union members who were presented with the Union Shelter include: Vo Thi Rieng - union member of Thanh Binh Dong Thap Company Limited; Nguyen Thi Tho - union member of Binh Tan Commune (now Binh Thanh Commune); Dao Thi Thuy Van - union member of Tan Hoa Commune (now Tan Long Commune); Nguyen Van Phuc - union member of Phu Tho Commune; Dam Minh Thien - union member of Phu Tho Commune.

Each house has an area of 63 to 90 m2, worth from 80 to 180 million VND, of which the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Dong Thap Branch supports 60 million VND/house, the rest is contributed by family and relatives.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghia - emphasized that the Trade Union Shelter program is one of the typical social security activities, with profound humanitarian meaning of the Trade Union organization, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and sharing difficulties with union members and workers. The donation of today's houses not only helps families stabilize their housing and feel secure in their labor and production, but also adds confidence and motivation for them to overcome difficulties and strive to improve their lives.

"This is also a concrete demonstration of the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members, thereby strengthening the trust and attachment of union members and workers to the Trade Union, contributing to building an increasingly strong organization" - Mr. Nghia informed.

Representatives of union members who received the Union's warmth emotionally expressed: "I am truly grateful for the timely attention and support of union organizations at all levels. The new, spacious house not only helps my family have a more stable place to live, feel more secure in life, and reduce worries every time the rainy and stormy season comes, but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement for me to be more determined to strive in work, strive to escape poverty, and take better care of my family".

It is known that the project is meaningful and practical to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; included in the Project of 100 Trade Union Shelters in 2025 launched by the Provincial Federation of Labor, towards the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress.
