On August 2, the Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union (Gia Lai Province) said that the unit has requested non-state grassroots trade unions to increase the organization of regular and periodic dialogues with business owners.
The goal is to promptly grasp and resolve arising issues, ensure the rights, insurance regimes and working conditions for workers.
Currently, Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union is managing 30 affiliated grassroots unions. The unit is implementing a propaganda plan to mobilize the establishment of more trade union organizations in enterprises that do not have labor representative organizations.
Ms. Truong Thi My Le - Chairwoman of Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union - emphasized: "The trade union organization needs to focus on the grassroots, taking the legitimate and legal needs of union members and workers as the center for all activities.
Activities must closely follow actual conditions, especially for workers in non-state enterprises."
In addition to developing the organization, the trade union also maintains regular contact with businesses and workers to promptly listen to the thoughts, aspirations and recommendations from the grassroots.
Sharing the reality from the grassroots, Ms. Ninh Thi Tuyet - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Dak Ro Sa Hydropower Joint Stock Company - said: "Due to the characteristics of remote mountainous areas, union members and workers face many difficulties in living and traveling. Thanks to the attention of the trade union organization, labor regimes and support policies are guaranteed, helping workers feel secure in sticking with the enterprise for a long time".
Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union also affirmed that it will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and socio-political organizations, ensuring consistency in action programs, avoiding overlap and promoting effective support for trade union activities.
