The Labor Federation of Hai Duong province has awarded 50 million VND in financial support to build a "Union Shelter" house for union member Nguyen Thi Huyen (Union of Mascot Company Limited) and 30 million VND to repair a "Union Shelter" house for union member Luong Thi Mai (Union of Brother Company Limited).
Through a field survey, the Mascot Company Limited Trade Union realized the difficult situation of union member Nguyen Thi Huyen. Her husband had just passed away from cancer, and she was raising 3 school-age children by herself.
For over 20 years, union member Nguyen Thi Huyen's family has lived in a seriously degraded level 4 house, leaking in the rain and hot in the summer. Faced with these difficulties, the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones of Hai Duong province has proposed that the Provincial Federation of Labor support the construction of a "Trade Union Shelter" for union member Nguyen Thi Huyen with an amount of 50 million VND.
Also in difficult circumstances, union member Luong Thi Mai is divorced and currently raising 2 young children. The mother and children of union member Luong Thi Mai live in a level 4 house built in 2015. Due to limited economic conditions, the house was built without a foundation, quickly deteriorated, and the roof leaked.
The renovation of the Luong Thi Mai union house started in October. Up to now, the house has completed the planned renovation and had to rebuild the kitchen wall and re-roof the kitchen due to the impact of the recent storm No. 3.
With financial support from the Social Fund of the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation, along with the care of relatives and colleagues, and their own efforts, union members and their families have overcome difficulties to build and repair solid houses and spacious accommodations.
