On December 25, the Labor Federation of Giong Rieng District (Kien Giang) held a meeting to summarize the Union's activities in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
In 2024, Giong Rieng district had remarkable development in the workers, civil servants, laborers (CNVCLD) movements and Trade Union activities. Under the leadership of the District Party Committee, the close coordination between the government and the District Labor Federation, the Trade Union movement has achieved many impressive results, creating a solid foundation for the tasks in 2025.
The Union has carried out many practical activities for union members and workers. On the occasion of Lunar New Year, the District Labor Federation mobilized 380 gifts worth more than 126 million VND to give to union members in difficult circumstances. Built 5 Union Shelter houses; organized a zero-dong market; gave Mid-Autumn Festival gifts; supported union members with serious illnesses or in difficult circumstances... The total amount of money mobilized for these activities reached hundreds of millions of VND.
The work of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees has also been widely implemented. The District Labor Federation has closely coordinated with relevant agencies to monitor the implementation of policies related to employees, from wages, insurance to labor safety. Dialogue activities and the development of democratic regulations at the workplace continue to be promoted, contributing to reducing labor disputes.
The District Labor Federation pays special attention to propaganda and education of union members, contributing to strengthening trust and attachment to the Union organization. Organizing training courses on professional skills, finance and management for grassroots union officials to improve the quality of activities and build a strong team of union officials.
The patriotic emulation movement is a highlight in the district's Trade Union activities. With practical programs such as the "Good workers, creative workers" and "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" movements, the District Labor Federation has implemented 6 typical projects worth more than 384 million VND. The District Labor Federation directed the grassroots trade unions to coordinate in implementing the initiative writing movement, attracting 283 topics from union members and employees, contributing to promoting innovation and creativity at work. These initiatives not only bring economic efficiency but also create great social value.
In 2025, the Giong Rieng District Labor Federation aims to continue to take better care of the lives of workers. Promote programs such as the Trade Union Shelter, organize periodic health check-ups and provide timely support to union members in difficulty. The District Labor Federation aims to develop 35 new union members, build a strong union organization and enhance the role of the union in protecting workers' rights.
At the conference, the District Labor Federation awarded the "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization" medal to 8 individuals, the Provincial Labor Federation flag to 1 collective and the Labor Federation's certificate of merit, the District Labor Federation's certificate of merit to 42 collectives and 205 individuals with achievements in implementing the emulation movement.
