According to the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, in order to promptly take care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan to organize diverse, practical and meaningful activities.
Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy - President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said: Through the activities, we will take care of the material and spiritual needs of union members and employees to motivate and encourage them to improve labor productivity, product quality, and unite to build agencies, units, and businesses that are increasingly developing. Thereby, we also promote the role of the Trade Union organization in taking care of union members and employees during Tet to strengthen trust and enhance solidarity with the Trade Union organization.
This year, the Kien Giang Provincial Labor Federation, in coordination with the Provincial Women's Union and the Kien Giang Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, organized the Trade Union Tet Market in the Northwest Urban Area. Participants and recipients of support are union members and women's union members at branches, groups, and grassroots unions in Rach Gia City and affiliated grassroots unions. The expected number of supports is 5,000.
Ms. Thuy informed that the form of support is to mobilize businesses to participate in calculating preferential prices on products with a discount of 5 - 30%, giving vouchers for purchasing goods with a discount of 100,000 - 300,000 VND; giving 100 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances. The Provincial Federation of Labor is also asking for the Provincial Party Committee's approval and asking for partial financial support from the Provincial People's Committee.
At the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" (scheduled to be held on the last night of the Tet market), 300 gifts were also given to workers and 100 gifts to children of union members in difficult circumstances, and a house was given to the Trade Union Shelter...
Regarding the implementation progress, Ms. Thuy informed: “Currently, the contents and subjects have been agreed upon. The specialized departments continue to coordinate with the sectors to issue plans and official dispatches calling on business units to join the Trade Union organization. The preparation steps must be completed before January 3, 2025.”
District and city labor federations and industry unions, based on the plan of the provincial labor federation, proactively report to the Party Committee, seek support from the government and employers to develop plans to organize activities to care for Tet for union members and workers in difficult circumstances at their level. Activities must be appropriate to the actual situation, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.
The enterprise trade unions under the provincial labor federation proactively survey and grasp the living conditions, thoughts, feelings, and aspirations of union members and employees. Proactively advise the Party Committee and propose to employers to have a plan to take care of Tet and promptly pay salaries, bonuses, and other benefits to ensure the rights of union members and employees.
