Trade unions support Muong Than people to overcome natural disasters

Lai Chau - The Provincial Labor Federation has just provided support to people in the Muong Than flood area.

On July 25, the Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized the handover of support funds to families heavily damaged by floods in Muong Than commune, contributing to helping people overcome losses and stabilize their lives soon.

The support phase has a total budget of nearly 240 million VND, mobilized from two sources including the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union and the Golden Heart Charity Fund (Lao Dong Newspaper).

In which, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union authorized to award 171.9 million VND, and the Golden Heart Fund supported 68.05 million VND.

On behalf of the working delegation, Mr. Pham Ngoc Dang - Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation and representatives of the Golden Heart Fund (Lao Dong Newspaper) directly presented financial support to families with deceased and injured relatives and households heavily damaged in housing and property after natural disasters.

According to the Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation, the funding is allocated promptly to the most severely affected cases. Families with deceased or injured people being treated are supported from 1-6 million VND.

In addition, 66 households that suffered serious damage to houses and property received support from 1-4 million VND/household to have more conditions to purchase essential items and gradually restore their lives after the flood.

Not only materially meaningful, the gifts are also timely sharing and encouragement from the Trade Union organization to people in disaster-stricken areas.

The joint efforts of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union and the Golden Heart Fund (Lao Dong Newspaper) continue to spread the spirit of "Huong Than Tuong Ai", "Healthy leaves protect torn leaves", adding faith and willpower for families affected by floods in Muong Than to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
