In 2024, trade unions at all levels in Lao Cai province proactively participated and coordinated with the government, professionals, and socio-political organizations to build and implement grassroots democracy regulations, promote democracy in agencies, units, and enterprises; achieving many positive results.
984/984 agencies and units have organized conferences for civil servants, public employees and workers. The Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union participated with the heads of agencies and units to review and amend and supplement the internal regulations of the agencies and units such as: Regulations on implementing democracy; working regulations; internal spending regulations; regulations on coordination between the heads of agencies and units and the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union; regulations on rewards, use of welfare funds, salary regulations, etc.
Pursuant to legal regulations, the Executive Board of 227 enterprise-based trade unions proactively proposes and provides opinions before employers issue internal documents related to the rights and interests of employees such as: Labor regulations; salary scales, tables, salary standards; salary increase regulations, bonus regulations; regulations on implementing democracy at the workplace; annual occupational safety and hygiene work plans.
Enterprise trade unions proactively negotiate to sign collective labor agreements. Up to now, there are 100 enterprise collective labor agreements still in effect with many points more beneficial to employees than those stipulated by law such as: support for shift meals or shift meal money, gasoline money, house rent, childcare money; increase the number of days off during Tet; organize tours, travel, etc.
Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor and trade unions at all levels coordinate with relevant units to inspect, examine and supervise the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations in agencies, units and enterprises; supervise the implementation of social insurance policies, labor laws, labor safety and hygiene laws for workers, civil servants, employers, enterprises and units in the province. Trade unions at all levels organize and participate in 109 inspections, examinations and supervisions at 348 units...
The activities of the trade union in building and implementing the democratic regulations at the grassroots level, the democratic rights of workers are increasingly respected; the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers are basically guaranteed; the quality of collective labor agreements is gradually improved; contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises, preventing collective labor disputes, strikes or mass complaints from occurring.
