Speaking at the program, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union emphasized: With affection and responsibility, the banking industry always actively promotes social security support, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in difficult areas across the country.
In 2024, the whole industry mobilized about 3,000 billion VND to carry out social security activities, contribute to the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and support people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
Mr. Dao Minh Tu affirmed that the gifts to support Lao Cai on this occasion demonstrate the sharing of officers and employees of the banking sector. From there, promote the good tradition of solidarity and "mutual love" of the nation, contributing to encouraging poor households and families affected by natural disasters to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union visited and presented 2,851 gifts to poor households, policy families, meritorious people and families affected by natural disasters in Bat Xat district.
In addition, the delegation also visited, wished a happy new year, and presented gifts to border posts and several schools in Bat Xat district; provided funding to support the removal of 30 temporary houses and the implementation of many social security projects with a total value of more than 7.8 billion VND.
Previously, on January 11, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union presented social security support to Yen Bai province with 2,000 gifts for poor households, 30 houses for poor households and 1 educational project with a total gift value of 8.6 billion VND.
The Trade Union of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Trade Union of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam donated 1 billion VND to build the bridge.
Representatives of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam and the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam Yen Bai Branch presented funds to support the demolition of dilapidated houses and support educational projects worth 1 billion VND.
Mr. Dao Minh Tu pledged that in the coming time, the Vietnam Banking Trade Union will continue to accompany and support the poor and people affected by natural disasters in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces.
