On October 1, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) held a third quarter meeting to evaluate the results of trade union activities in the first 9 months of the year, deploy key tasks in the last months of the year and quickly inform the results of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor chaired the conference, co-chaired by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, leaders of professional departments and representatives of 587 affiliated grassroots unions with more than 40,000 union members.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat emphasized that trade unions need to continue to promote their pioneering role in protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers. At the same time, it mobilized union members and employees to successfully implement the resolution of the Provincial Party Congress.
The third quarter performance report shows that the majority of enterprises maintain production, ensure jobs and income for workers. The policies on salary, bonus, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance have been fully implemented, but there are still small enterprises that have not fulfilled their obligations.
Legal consultation, dialogue at the workplace, and signing of collective labor agreements continue to be implemented. Trade unions at all levels participate in monitoring occupational safety and hygiene, handling occupational accidents and providing timely support to union members in difficulty.
During the quarter, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor directed the organization of the "Union Meal" program, with 71 trade unions organizing nearly 10,000 workers, and at the same time giving hundreds of gifts, supporting "Union Shelter" houses to union members in difficult circumstances.
On the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, many meaningful activities were carried out, contributing to strengthening the trust and arousing the spirit of solidarity of union members.
In addition, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor continues to arrange, improve the organization, receive and transfer hundreds of grassroots unions, develop 11 new grassroots unions with 836 union members, and introduce 25 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and admission.
In the coming time, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor will direct trade unions at all levels to strengthen activities to care for union members' lives, promote emulation movements associated with local political tasks, proactively grasp the ideological situation, income, and employment of workers, and at the same time improve the capacity of trade union cadres.
The third quarter meeting is an opportunity for trade unions at all levels to exchange experiences, remove difficulties, and propose practical solutions to successfully complete the tasks of 2025, contributing to the overall development of Lao Cai province.
