On the afternoon of October 22, the Sa Pa Ward Trade Union successfully held the 1st Congress, term 2025 - 2030 with the motto of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
The Congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Sa Pa Ward Party Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches, unions and 120 delegates representing more than 2,600 union members in the area.
Established on August 1, 2025, the Sa Pa Ward Trade Union currently has 32 grassroots unions with more than 2,600 union members, of which nearly 1,300 are women. Immediately after its launch, the Trade Union has improved its organization, assigned tasks, developed operating regulations and quickly put into order.
In the past time, the Ward Union has focused on caring for and protecting the rights and welfare of union members and workers. With the motto "All union members and workers have Tet", the Union has mobilized resources, presented more than 4,700 gifts worth 2 billion VND; supported the repair and construction of 4 new "Union Shelters" and donated more than 1 billion VND to help union members overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Through the programs "Workers' Month", "Thank you union members", "Union Meal", nearly 2,700 union members were visited and supported with a total budget of more than 1.3 billion VND.
The work of propagating and disseminating laws has been promoted, helping nearly 6,900 union members access policies, resolutions and legal regulations.
In addition, the Trade Union also organized training, improved vocational and management skills for nearly 1,000 union members, contributing to promoting digital transformation, adapting to new requirements of the labor market.
In his speech, the leaders of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and Sa Pa Ward Party Committee acknowledged and commended the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the Ward Labor Union, and at the same time proposed to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, better caring for union members' lives, promoting emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers" in the coming term.
The Congress announced the Decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Sa Pa Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 11 members. Mr. Ta Xuan Thanh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Sa Pa Ward Labor Union.
