On the morning of April 24, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) associated with Workers' Month 2026.
The program aims to create a peak of propaganda, raise awareness and awareness of complying with the law on OSH; and at the same time promote solutions to prevent labor accidents and occupational diseases in businesses and workers.

Thereby, continuing to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting legitimate rights, building harmonious and stable labor relations.
In 2026, the launching ceremony is implemented with the themes "Innovating management and improving the efficiency of occupational safety and health in the digital age" and "Vietnamese workers - Innovation, improving labor productivity".
The focus is on promoting the application of science and technology, especially artificial intelligence, in management and early risk prevention.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong - Director of the Provincial Department of Home Affairs - emphasized that the Action Month on OSH and Workers' Month is an important annual event, showing the concern of all levels and sectors for the labor force.
According to Mr. Trong, one of the major orientations of this year is to shift from manual management methods to modern management based on digital platforms. In the current context, the requirement to apply technology, especially artificial intelligence, in occupational safety management becomes urgent.

Labor safety is not only the responsibility of management agencies but also the obligation of businesses to ensure safe working conditions. All development achievements must be directed towards workers," Mr. Trong emphasized.
In recent years, Lao Cai has implemented many synchronous solutions, especially in high-risk areas such as mining, metallurgy, and construction.

The whole province has had more than 19,000 workers trained in OSH; over 31,800 people have had periodic health check-ups; more than 9,500 people have had occupational disease check-ups and detections.
In addition, the work of caring for the lives of workers continues to be concerned, with many support activities, visits and the "Trade Union Shelter" program with a total budget of nearly 70 billion VND.

Representing the locality, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Chairman of Bat Xat Commune People's Committee committed to synchronously implementing many solutions such as promoting propaganda, strengthening inspection, handling violations; requiring businesses to fully fulfill their responsibilities to employees; closely coordinating with trade union organizations to protect legitimate rights.
At the program, there were also many practical activities such as commending typical collectives and individuals; awarding "Trade Union Shelter" support to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

Units and businesses also signed commitments to emulation to well implement the work of caring for life, jobs and ensuring OSH in 2026.
