QUANG TRI - Trade unions at all levels have done many meaningful and practical things, contributing to helping the northern provinces overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Individuals and groups collect bonus money to support

When hearing the news that many provinces in the North were severely affected by storm No. 3, teacher Duong Thi Hoai Phuong - a member of the Trade Union of Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School (Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province) was worried. In the 2023-2024 school year, this female teacher completed her duties excellently, so she received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and more than 3.5 million VND.

So, the female teacher took the entire bonus to support "to send a little affection to the people in the northern provinces". The female teacher thought that the people there needed support, the individual bonus was not big, but everyone joined hands, hoping that the bonus would bring motivation and joy to the people in the area that had just experienced a natural disaster.

At Ward 2 Primary and Secondary School (Dong Ha City), the school's union members also agreed to use the bonus money and Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, more than 7 million VND, to donate to the northern provinces that are suffering damage caused by storm No. 3.

Not only in administrative units, but also in local enterprises, the support campaign also received enthusiastic participation from employees.

Ms. Le Thi Quynh Nhu, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Green Central Development Joint Stock Company, said that the company's trade union has launched a call for all 5 departments of the factory to join hands in supporting funds to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, reaching more than 6 million VND.

"The amount of money is not large, but it is the affection, love and sharing of the company's workers with the people affected by natural disasters" - Ms. Quynh Nhu said.

Collect love and send it to the northern provinces

It is known that, in response to the damage caused to people in the northern provinces by storm No. 3, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor has issued an official dispatch calling on officials, union members, and workers to voluntarily contribute to support the damaged areas.

Responding to the call, many agencies, units, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers joined hands and wholeheartedly turned to flood victims in the northern provinces with meaningful activities.

Many small kitchens have become the center of relief activities, such as at the grassroots union of the Quang Tri Trade Union Hotel and Tourism Joint Stock Company, which has organized cooking and processing of dried fish and salted meat with lemongrass to send to people affected by natural disasters...

In addition, most grassroots trade unions in the province have also sent an open letter to stop entertainment activities and organize the Mid-Autumn Festival, instead allocating funds to support people in flood-affected areas.

Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor said that every small contribution from union members and workers is a great source of encouragement, helping people and workers in storm and flood affected areas in the Northern provinces overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. This activity not only has profound humanitarian significance but also demonstrates the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance of union members, workers and workers and the sense of responsibility of the union organization when people in some Northern provinces are facing difficulties.
