On December 1, the District 1 Labor Federation (HCMC) coordinated with the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation to hand over the Trade Union Shelter to two Trade Union members in Long Phu and My Tu districts.
In Long Phu district, the delegation handed over a house to union member Nguyen Tan Phong Em - Union of Song Phung commune. It is known that union member Phong Em's situation is very difficult. The house he is living in is a temporary house built by a benefactor in 2014, now degraded, crooked, severely damaged and located in a clearance area that must be relocated. His wife has no job, and the children are still in school. All family expenses are shouldered by Phong Em. However, he himself is very ill and is being treated at the Emergency Department of Can Tho Central General Hospital.
With the support of 50 million VND from the Labor Federation of District 1 (HCMC), Phong Em's family was able to build a new, spacious and decent house.
Similarly, in Long Phu district, union member Lai Thi Ngoc Dep - Union of Hung Phu B Primary School also received 50 million VND from the Union Shelter Fund of the Labor Federation of District 1 (HCMC) in support. Ms. Dep said that her whole family had to rent a house because they did not have a house. All income depends on Ms. Dep's salary. She currently supports her elderly parents, her sick younger brother and her 2 children who are in school.
"I am very happy to receive the new house. As a single mother, I have to support the whole family, so without the support from the District 1 Labor Union (HCMC), I would not be able to have the house I have today. I am extremely grateful," Ms. Dep said emotionally.
Previously, on December 30, the District 1 Labor Federation (HCMC) also presented a Trade Union Shelter house to union member Nguyen Thi Tuyen - Trade Union of Vinh Quoi Kindergarten, Nga Nam Town (Soc Trang Province).
